Slovak GDP to grow by more than 3% in 2016
Slovakia's GDP should increase by more than 3% year-on-year in 2016, with domestic demand and expected positive developments with Slovakia's export partners being the main drivers, concurred analysts approached by TASR and those from the central bank (NBS). The analysts expect that domestic demand should serve as a stable pillar for Slovakia's economic growth. The falling unemployment rate shouldn't remain a mere pretty statistics figure, but also a cause for higher consumption by the public. Real salaries should again grow by nearly 3 percent y-o-y, serving as a further impetus for consumption. Conversely, possible adverse factors may include a possible drop in state's investments, the ongoing geopolitical tension, a fragile economic growth in the Eurozone and a slowdown of the Chinese economy.
