Survey: Bioproducts popular mainly in large towns
Bioproducts and environmentally friendly products appear to be ever more popular in Slovakia. A recent TNS Slovakia agency survey carried out on a representative sample of 1,000 respondents has shown that 29 percent of Slovaks buy bioproducts, with 42 percent of this number doing so at least once per week and 24 percent rather sporadically. The respondents mostly stated that they buy these products because they consider them to be healthier and of better quality than ordinary products, and also because they're grown without the use of chemicals. Bioproducts are preferred mostly by men, people living in the Bratislava and Nitra regions and people from towns with populations exceeding 20,000. The primary reason why most Slovaks don't buy these products is their high price (61 percent of respondents). At the same time 32 percent said that they don't believe that products labelled 'bio' are really free of chemicals, while 20 percent didn't have enough quality information on the matter.
