Purchasing Power of Slovaks Measured at 57% of European Average

The per capita annual purchasing power of Slovaks is €7,769, which is equivalent to 57 per cent of the European average of €13,636 per person, according to a study called GfK Purchasing Power Europe. Slovakia was ranked 25th in Europe, closely behind Estonia and ahead of the Czech Republic. In terms of Slovakia's eight regions, Bratislava region was clearly on top (11,131 per person, or 81.6 of the European average). Presov region was at the opposite side of the spectrum with €6,554 per capita. The study reviewed the nominal disposable income in euro terms of 42 European countries.
