The majority stockholder of the energy producer Slovenské Elektrárne (SE) Enel is negotiating the transfer of half of their shares with the Czech-based company Energy and Industry Holding (EPH). Enel currently holds a 66-percent stake in the company and the Slovak republic owns the remaining 34%. Prime Minister Robert Fico reiterated that the state is interested in buying another 17% in the company in order to become a major stakeholder. Currently, the talks with Enel are being headed by Economy Minister Vazil Hudák. The minister claims the state would like to have an option to decide whether or not to buy the 17-percent share within six months as of the launch of Mochovce.
