Defence Minister on Fighting Terrorism in US

One of the issues discussed by Defence Minister Martin Glváč in the US was the fight against terrorism. The Pentagon inquired about the intelligence the Slovak Military Intelligence service has at its disposal. Martin Glváč met with Deputy Secretary of Defence Robert O. Work. The Slovak Defence Minister confirmed that he discussed specific forms of cooperation in the fight against terrorism with his US partners. "We were approached in a letter from US Secretary of Defence Ashton Carter dated December 3, and this subsequent visit was designed to detail certain further forms of cooperation," stated Martin Glváč. He added that working teams have already met in Slovakia to that end. "I wouldn't get ahead of myself to say which specific conclusions we've arrived at this stage, but, yes - this was a quite serious issue, too."
