About 9,000 Slovak teachers expressed protested on Thursday's country-wide 'Babysitting Day'. They wanted to emphasise that their salaries are at the level of pay that people are willing to give for babysitting. The protest was organised by the Bratislava Teachers Initiative. More than 500 schools joined the event. Apart from Babysitting Day, teachers also organised supplementary events in which other groups from Žilina, Považská Bystrica and Banská Bystrica, which are all central Slovak towns, joined the Bratislava Teachers Initiative.
