Slovaks abroad don’t plan on returning home

More than half of the Slovak citizens who are working abroad plan to stay there permanently, shows a survey by the Business Alliance of Slovakia (PAS). The number of Slovaks who have either short-term or long-term work in another country is currently about 300,000 while a further 30,000 are studying abroad. Most Slovaks work in the Czech Republic but in recent years, many more also work in Germany and Austria. According to the survey presented by the Business Alliance Executive Director Peter Kremsky, only 7 percent of them consider returning to Slovakia, one-third plan to stay abroad for several years, and more than half want to stay there forever, reads the Sme daily.
