The preparations for and running of the ninth general election in Slovakia will require the largest amount of money ever spent on this purpose since 1989. The Government will reserve a total of €10.7 million for the 2016 general election, which is due to be held on March 5. Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák, who submitted the schedule, stated that over €9 million will be needed for preparing and running the election. And the remaining approximate €1.5 million is reserved for the Slovak Statistics Office to process the results.
