Pellegrini meets Kenyan counterpart

Slovak Parliamentary Chairman Peter Pellegrini received his Kenyan counterpart Justin B. Muturi in Bratislava on Thursday. According to Pellegrini, Kenya is the biggest recipient of Slovak development aid and ranks among our important partners in Africa. He went on to single out the potential that looms for trade exchange, as Slovakia's exports to Kenya rose by 34 percent in 2014 on a yearly basis. The two officials also discussed the instability plaguing countries near Kenya. "We also praise Kenya's role in taking care of migrants arriving there from the surrounding unstable countries", said Pellegrini. Justin B. Muturi extended an invitation to Pellegrini, and all Slovaks, to visit Kenya, calling Kenya a nice and hospitable nation. The Kenyan official also voiced hope for Kenya's position to improve in the EU when Slovakia takes over the rotating presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of next year.
