Talks on potential military aid for France have opened on Friday, November 20. "We've received a first general request from the French side. We can provide capabilities in the sphere of radiation, chemical and biological protection, experts in logistics and liquidation of explosives, staff officers, intelligence services and, of course, special operation units," said Defence Ministry State Secretary Miloš Koterec. Specifics are to be determined in a discussion between the armed forces of both countries, expected to occur within the next week or two. According to the Slovak Defence Ministry, France will request from mostly EU members the support for its missions abroad in order to allow it to withdraw some of its units and re-task them with the fight against terrorism.
