"Information is at the front of everything. If we have information on the fact that someone is carrying out activities which could result in an act of terrorism then the police force have enough tools to identify this person before he or she commits the act," stressed PM Robert Fico. It is important to monitor such a person in the preparatory phase and get that person under control. Fico has rectified his previous words about monitoring all Muslims in the territory of Slovakia, stating that Slovakia will monitor everyone with whom there is a reason to monitor. Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák added that they are monitoring everyone who should be monitored and that a few people have already been detained, without wanting to specify more on those persons. In an interview for the Hospodárske noviny daily he added that it's quite impossible to monitor every inconspicuous radical 24/7. "It's important to monitor the logistics. We need to know where the explosives, weapons and ammunition come from. It's easier to monitor logistics flow than to control thousands of extremists and terrorists. It's not only about Islam, it's about all types of extremism," stated Interior Minister Kaliňák. For now, he claims no Slovak connection to the Friday terrorist attacks have been confirmed yet.
