The enforcement of collective guilt and labelling people of different religions as a potential threat doesn't safeguard the security of any country, Slovak President Andrej Kiska and Romanian President Klaus Werner Iohannis both agreed with this at their meeting on Wednesday. According to Iohannis, it's important that the EU strengthens its cooperation on better supervision and protection of its external borders. He added that solidarity is also important. With its newly discovered gas deposits on the coast of the Black Sea, Romania could become a significant energy supplier for the region and contribute to regional stability, cooperation and energy security in Europe, stated Slovak President Kiska at the opening of a Romanian-Slovak Economic Forum held in Bratislava on Wednesday, calling Romania one of Slovakia's most important trade partners in the region of southeastern Europe. He added that if this trend is to be sustained, both Slovakia and Romania need a more intelligent integration focused on the identification and elimination of obstacles hindering mutual trade deals and investments. "Particular attention must be paid to a quick and efficient realisation of all steps paving the way for a united digital market," said Kiska, pointing out that the world of innovations leads to the Internet of Things.
