Cars and TV sets formed bulk of Slovak exports in 2014

According to the Economy Ministry's monitoring and evaluation report on the Slovak External Economic Relations Strategy for 2014-20, which was discussed at the Government session on Wednesday, the country's most significant export commodity remained vehicles, which make up 25 percent of total exports. Vehicles were followed by electrical machines and devices (mainly TV sets), which had a 21-percent share of total exports. "In 2011-14 the share of vehicles and electric machines and devices of total exports kept on growing", emphasised the Economy Ministry. Among other significant Slovak export commodities were nuclear reactors, boilers and appliances, fossil fuels and mineral oils. Following that were iron and steel, plastic and plastic products, rubber products, vehicle tyres and automobile seats. "Other commodities made up 20.8 percent of the overall exports", added the ministry in the report.
