A group of marketing professionals has prepared an information campaign targeting migrants from countries of the Middle East and Africa, through which they can learn in their native languages about real life in Europe. The idea was conceived by former chief editor of Stratégie [Strategies] magazine Peter Vrábel and member of Slovakia Art Directors Club Roman Lazar. The project is set to be carried out by civic association Nultá Hodina [Hour Zero], and the public can support it via the Indiegogo crowdfunding site. Vrábel claims that smugglers - who profit from the migration crisis the most - give unrealistic promises to migrants, such as a carefree, comfortable life, high welfare payments and easy money. "This is where disappointment and frustration sets in. The lack of information opens the door to various criminal groups that take advantage of the situation," claimed Vrábel. He points out that social media played an important role in the Arab Spring and that they could also be utilised in the current crisis.
