The Constitutional Court rejected President Andrej Kiska's request to explain the relevant constitutional passages concerning his powers to appoint Constitutional Court judges. Kiska demanded that the Court clarifies doubts that emerged due to contradictions between a judgement announced verbally by the Court's Third Senate in March of this year and the additional written explanation that the president received two months later. The Constitutional Court on Wednesday announced that it was "rejecting the Slovak president's proposal", without providing any explanation. Court spokesperson Anna Pančúrová added that the entire ruling will be released within a few days.
