The largest film festival focused on adventure linked with extreme sport performances and travelling - the International Outdoor Film Festival - will start in Liptovský Hrádok (Žilina region) on Thursday, October 29. "Life-threatening and sometimes incomprehensible situations as well as experiences in foreign countries bring with them a large dose of adrenaline. The films will take you to various places on our planet, which are seldom seen by regular folk", said Dana Kolárová from Liptovský Hrádok City Office, explaining the idea behind the festival. The festival will be launched by the ceremonial matriculation of secondary schools' first graders which will be accompanied by the planting of new trees in Girsík Park. The Statue of Ján Xaver Girsík (prefect of Liptovský Hrádok estate in 1787-1794) will also be unveiled. The films depict various extreme sports, mountain climbing, water sports as well as travels to exotic destinations.
