A bear weighing some 90 kilos has been spotted roaming near a number of villages around the town of Prievidza (Trenčín region) by the Bojnice Hunters Association. "We've been aware of the bear lurking around people's homes for three weeks now", said Jozef Hatvanyi of the association. According to the hunters, the bear's den is probably located in the hill of Magura. "The bear isn't dangerous, but we're seeking to make sure people are on the alert so they avoid those areas in which the bear has been spotted", said Hatvanyi. The hunters are expecting the bear to start its hibernation for the winter as soon as the temperatures drop somewhat.
