Slovak Post Issues Ľudovít Štúr Commemorative Stamp

The 200^th anniversary of the birth of the linguist, politician and leading figure of the Slovak national existence Ľudovít Štúr will also be commemorated by a stamp issued by the Slovak Post. The postage stamp will have a nominal value of €1. Alongside the stamp, a first day of issue cover (FDC) will be issued and the domicile will feature Štúr's birthplace in Uhrovec (Trencin region). "The motif of the FDC artwork is an allegorical composition of the Slovak nation's freedom, depicted by a bisected rock of Devin castle hill, from which a person is rising, freeing falcons," said Slovak Post spokesperson Stanislava Pondelová.
