The construction of a new eight-floor hospital, St. Michael’s, is scheduled to start in September. The brand new building will be situated on Cintorínska Street and will have a 110-bed capacity. Construction is planned to take two years.
Last year, according to the Interior Ministry, more than 4,000 hospitalisations were reported and the new hospital should gradually ease the pressure on the present Bratislava hospitals. The projected cost of the project is €49.7 million, two-thirds of which has been allocated for the construction of the building, the remainder having been earmarked to equip the new premises.
