PM Robert Fico attends EU summit on migration

Prime Minister Robert Fico is leading the Slovak delegation at a European Council session in Brussels that is being held on October 15-16. The session is dedicated mainly to the issue of migration. These discussions follow September's extraordinary summit, when leaders of EU-member states adopted a package of measures drawn up by the European Commission to reduce the impact of the current migration crisis and to focus effectively on addressing its causes and consequences. At this week's session the European Council will assess how measures taken have been implemented to date. Also on the agenda are preparations for a summit in November of the European Union with the African Union, where cooperation between the continents in the area of migration crisis will be discussed.
