Control of the financing of the TechMatch Slovakia 2015 conference on start-up companies, which takes place on October 12-16 in Bratislava and is estimated by Denník N daily to cost around €1.4 million, should be carried out by an independent commission; such is the proposal of the Slovak Business Agency's (SBA) CEO Branislav Šafárik which he presented at a briefing in Bratislava on Saturday. The state conference's budget angered IT experts who called for its boycott. The whole situation was labelled as a misunderstanding by Šafárik. "It causes damage to the reputation of the whole Slovak start-up ecosystem, at home as well as abroad. It's profoundly embarrassing to read on social networks about the attacks on speakers, mentors and investors participating at the conference," stated Šafárik, adding that the opportunity that comes hand in hand with the TechMatch Slovakia 2015 conference is enormous.
