From next year the minimum guaranteed wage in Slovakia will reach €405 per month, up 6.5 percent in comparison to the current value. As employers and employees could not agree on a figure it was the Government which made the final decision. "In this case there is neither winner, nor loser. It's important that people who work for such a minimum wage will actually feel the increase next year", said Labour Minister Jan Richter. The Trade Union Confederation (KOZ) insisted that the minimum wage should be increased from the current €380 to €410. The Republican Union of Employers (RUZ) and Association of Employers Unions (AZZZ) proposed that there should be no increase.
