Carmaker Jaguar Land Rover has appointed Alexander Wortberg as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the factory planned to be built at a greenfield site near Nitra. The new COO should supervise the work related to the feasibility study aimed at evaluating all aspects of constructing and operating a factory with a planned annual output of 300,000 vehicles. Wortberg will also be the main liaison with Government representatives and subsequently he should assume responsibility for carrying out the overall project. It's expected that the plant in Nitra will create 2,000-4,000 new jobs. The investment cost for now has been calculated to exceed €1 billion and construction work is set to commence in 2016, with production to be launched in 2018 or 2019.
