Romania’s President Traian Băsescu arrived into Bratislava today as part of an official two-day visit associated with the commemoration of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP) whereby Romanian armed forces greatly contributed to the liberation of Slovakia at the end of the Second World War. Today, both presidents will award honours to two war veterans with Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič awarding the Slovak Order of the White Double-Cross with Băsescu granting the Romanian State Award to two Slovak veterans.
