The Parliamentary Committee approved the deployment of medical personnel to Afghanistan, allowing Slovakia to send a medical team. The proposal from the Department of Defence was already approved by the government and endorsed by the foreign parliamentary committee. The team should have five members, to serve at the international airport in the country's capital Kabul.
“Military medics in Afghanistan receive valuable practical experience in the real deployment of military operations. These experiences will subsequently be used in the upcoming joint battle group V4,” explained Defence Minister Martin Glváč. Another objective of the posting is to offer practical experience to deployed military surgeons.
