Members of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) committee and the heads of S&D's national delegations met in the European Parliament on Tuesday to review Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico's appearance before MEPs representing the group on Monday. After the session had concluded, Slovak MEP Vladimír Maňka said that S&D's leadership had held no vote and adopted no binding position with an eye to Smer-SD's membership of the Party of European Socialists (PES). Fico was in Strasbourg on Monday to expound on the Slovak Government's position concerning the migrant crisis.
