"Slovakia is a strong supporter of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty and supports its entry into force as soon as possible", said Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajčák at the UN Conference on Tuesday. The conference was convened on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. "The treaty is a fundamental tool for non-proliferation and an important step towards maintaining and enhancing global security", said Lajčák in his speech. The minister also met with other foreign ministers from several EU countries to discuss the situation in Ukraine. The ministers stated that the continuation of reforms is crucial for the modernisation of Ukraine's economy and reiterated the EU's support in Ukraine's transformation efforts.
