Chicken farmers are asking the government to compensate their losses as a result of the recent summer heat wave. Broiler poultry farmers allege that high temperatures have increased their costs by more than 15%. ”In the tropical heat, chickens ate less, and had lower gains,” said the press secretary of the Poultry Farmers Association of Slovakia Ľubomír Urban. The Agriculture Ministry has not commented on the request yet.
