As much as 16 kilograms of the illegal drug Catha edulis (khat) were confiscated at a post office in Bratislava, according to Financial Directorate spokesperson Patricia Macikova. The suspect package arrived in Slovakia from Ethiopia on September 14. The value of the drug on the illegal market has been estimated at €11,400. On Monday, an Austrian and a Czech came to the post office to pick up the package. Police arrested them on the spot. The men could now face three to ten years in jail.
