Comenius University in Bratislava wants to contribute towards a civilized and professional debate on the issue of migrants from Africa and the Middle East, said Chancellor Karol Micieta during a ceremony to mark the beginning of the new academic year on Monday. According to him, Slovakia is not the destination country for most migrants but in case of interest, the university can offer its help for integrating people into Slovak society. "Certainly, we can also offer our experienced lecturers for teaching the Slovak language", said Micieta. His statements came almost a month after two top Czech universities, Charles University in Prague and Masaryk University in Brno offered their services to those opting to apply for asylum in the Czech Republic.
