Slovak President Andrej Kiska received several families of foreign nationals who have been living in Slovakia for some time in order to discuss their motivations for resettling. The president feels one vital aspect in the ongoing discussion on the migrant crisis is missing: whether Slovakia is ready to lend a helping hand on a voluntary basis and on its own initiative. He added one more aspect: whether or not Slovakia will later be able to provide housing or education to migrants. "I'm convinced that when it comes to the state, as well as thousands of individuals and also organisations, we're ready and able to help. But we need to make sure that it doesn't evolve into a major theme of the election campaign", said the head of state.
