Slovak Parliament approves rejection of quotas

The Slovak Parliament has adopted a resolution regarding the migrant crisis. It takes into consideration the information on the current situation regarding solving the crisis in the EU. At the same time it, however, points out that the government in its actions at European fora is bound by Parliament's declaration from June 24, 2015, which stipulates that quotas should be rejected. The resolution was Okayed by 115 members of parliament. The opposition MP and the foreign affairs committee chair František Šebej wanted to add to the Thursday resolution the call to inform the public objectively about Slovakia's readiness for refugees in terms of capacity, legislation and security in order to prevent the spreading of fear and misinformation among the public. According to him, it's the negative emotions that threaten security. His proposal was backed by only 46 MPs and was thus not accepted to the resolution.
