Foreign diplomats to be treated to varied programme in Trenčín region

Diplomats accredited to Slovakia will learn more about Trenčín region, in western Slovakia this Friday and Saturday. The working visit called 'Diplomatic Trip' has been organised for them by the Trenčín Region Regional Tourism Association (KOCR) and the Foreign Ministry. "The diplomats' visit is organised by Foreign Ministry in a different region every year. ... The schedule of the visit has been drawn up in a way that will enable the guests to see what are, in tourism terms, the region's most interesting and attractive sites", said executive director of the tourism organisation Eva Fryvaldska.
She added that representatives of local municipalities and mayors have all participated in preparations for the diplomatic trip. The delegation is to be accompanied by ministry head Miroslav Lajčák and his spouse. The Trenčín self-governing region is to be represented by its governor Jaroslav Baška. On Friday morning the diplomats were scheduled to visit the house in Kosariska where renowned Slovak politician, diplomat and astronomer M.R. Štefánik grew up, before setting off for his burial mound at Bradlo. Later in the day, they'll be treated to a tour of and lunch at a farmer's yard in Myjava and visit the revamped 'Green Frog' outdoor swimming pool. Visits to Trenčín and Bojnice Castles are scheduled for Saturday, as is a visit to the RONA glassworks in Lednicke Rovne.
