US military convoy arrives to Slovakia

Defence Minister Martin Glváč and Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Slovakia Rudolf V. Perina welcomed the US military convoy which arrived in Slovakia on Monday, September 14, with American military vehicles spotted passing through Bratislava streets Wednesday morning, September 16. "Now we are training the move on roads and in the future we will probably attempt to move on railways or in the air", Glváč said, quoted by the SITA newswire, adding they want to train using various types of logistics. The military convoy of 640 US soldiers and about 150 pieces of military equipment is heading to the NATO exercise titled Brave Warrior in Hungary. The Slovak armed forces will also take part, comprising seven countries involved. The convoy was greeted by dozens of supporters waving NATO flags, as well as opponents from both the far left and far right at the Czech-Slovak border crossing in Brodske.
