Another skydiver killed at Aeroklub Dubnica Airport

A parachutist from Trenčín, 59, suffered fatal injuries during a drop above Aeroklub Dubnica nad Váhom Airport near the village of Slavnica (Trenčín region) on Tuesday, TASR learnt from Trenčín Regional Police spokesman Elena Antalová on the same day. The incident was reported to police in the morning. The man suffered unspecified injuries to which he succumbed despite attempts at resuscitation. A paramedic from the Trenčín air ambulance service was despatched to the site, with ground ambulance staff administering first aid to no avail. The case is being investigated by the police. This is the third tragic event within a month to occur at the Dubnica-based Aeroklub Airport. On August 13, an aircraft propeller severely injured a 52-year-old man. The pilot was found to have 1.38 parts per thousand of alcohol in his system. Later, on August 20, two aircraft carrying skydivers who were practising a group jump for an air show in Slavnica crashed in mid-air. Four crew members and three parachutists died in the crash, while 31 skydivers managed to jump to safety.
