Food Researcher Recommends Consumption of Slovak Foods

People should go back to the old ways by way of primarily eating foodstuffs produced in their local areas, Stanislav Silhar of the Food Research Institute said at the Agrokomplex agriculture and food fair in Nitra on Sunday. “Products from fresh meat definitely taste differently from those made from imported meat after being frozen for several months. The idea proposed by Agriculture Minister (Ľubomír Jahnátek) - that 80 percent of foodstuffs sold in Slovakia should be of Slovak provenance - makes sense and is justified, but it will be difficult to make good on this goal,” said Silhar at the 40th annual event on Sunday.
