Slovakia's GDP, after seasonal adjustment, rose by 0.4 percent in both the euro area (EA19) and the EU28 zone during the second quarter of 2015, compared to the previous quarter, according to a second estimate published by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union. Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 1.5 percent in the euro area and by 1.9 percent in the EU28 zone in the second quarter of 2015. Both the quarterly and the annual GDP growth in Slovakia was faster than the average for the euro zone as well as for the EU. The Slovak economy expanded 0.8 percent in quarterly terms and 3.1 percent year-over-year.
