The Public Defender of Rights Jana Dubovcová met Rudolf Chmel, the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Human Rights on Wednesday. She informed him about individual cases of breaching the key human rights issues by public administration bodies and about the need for legislative changes to eliminate such approach. They also spoke about people in peril who escape their homeland struck by war and famine. "We are sure that our country can help such people more intensively as it has sufficient means of doing that", reads the common statement of the two officials. Both, Dubovcová and Chmel supported the Call for humanity initiated by Slovak NGOs.
