The Polish city of Krakow is ready to submit a bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics, in which it counts on Slovakia's ski resort in Jasna (Žilina region) as the venue for organising the alpine disciplines during the games, according to an agreement reached by a Polish-Slovak committee commissioned with preparing the bid at its joint session in Demanovska Dolina (Žilina region) on Thursday.
“It's essential to take all the steps together. We want to set an example that such sporting events can be organised in co-operation between two neighbouring countries and nations. The idea is to focus on the Tatra Mountains area [both the Slovak and Polish sides], so that both can benefit permanently from the effort,” said president of the Polish Olympic Committee Andrzej Krasnicki.
