According to Cyclingnews web portal the Tinkoff-Saxo team has announced that the Slovak cyclist Peter Sagan will abandon the Vuelta a España cycling race due to the injuries he got after being hit by a race motorbike during the Saturdays eight stage of the race. The team doctor claims Sagan suffered wounds and burns of first and second degree on the left side of his body and a contusion on his left forearm. Peter Sagan was apparently hit by the service motorbike with less than 10 kilometers to go in the stage. After the incident he let his anger out by lashing out at race vehicles, resulting in a fine from the organizers for insults and threats as well as behavior that damages the image of cycling. "I will, obviously, pay it but I consider it unjust," claimed Sagan in his press release.
