The summer months are traditionally the time for refurbishing homes, as confirmed by a financial report by paint-selling company JUB, which shows an increase in demand for paint by around 25 percent when compared to this year's average level. "Interest in more pleasant living is growing", said chairman of the JUB board Stanislav Kalinay, adding that this is due to the better financial situation among Slovaks and also young people's interest in having their own place. According to Kalinay, wall colours are chosen by women in up to 80 percent of cases, and they are less conservative than men. The financial report also demonstrated that Slovaks are most likely to change the colour of their home's interior walls.
