Mi-17 military helicopters will be allowed to resume flights as of this coming Monday. They were banned from flying after one such machine crashed near the village of Hradisko (Prešov region, north east Slovakia) on July 28. The accident claimed the life of one soldier. Defence Minister Martin Glváč said on Wednesday that a check of all relevant equipment has shown that the crash was not caused by technical failure. Having said that, the exact cause of the accident hasn't been pinpointed as yet. According to Slovak Chief of General Staff Milan Maxim, other than human factors, the accident might have been caused by an unfortunate coincidence involving, for example, a storm, wind or rain. The other two soldiers on board the helicopters are recovering from serious injuries.
