Inspectors from the Financial Administration have recently focused on companies which, in their ledger statements in value added tax, applied high sums of refunds based on cash receipts. They inspected nearly 150 companies and revealed that almost one-third of them were only shell companies. "We will cancel the VAT registration for such entrepreneurs", informs the Financial Administration. Of the 144 inspected entities, 68 were real companies engaged in economic activity, 24 could not be contacted and almost 50 subjects were non-contact shell companies, writes the Hospodárske Noviny daily.
