Coronation of Princess Sissi to be held in Betliar

The Slovak National Museum has chosen Betliar Manor House to be the first in Slovakia to present the life and fate of the legendary Austrian empress Elisabeth, popularly known as Sissi. The exhibition "Her Majesty the Queen" presents Queen Elizabeth as portrayed in Slovak history, but also in popular fantasies. Moreover, on Saturday, August 22, visitors will have the unique opportunity to experience the crowning ceremony of the King and the Queen. The special event will begin at 2.30 pm with a celebratory coronation parade; however Betliar Manor House has planned accompanying events taking place since the early morning. The exhibition dedicated to Elizabeth - Sissi will be opened to the public until the end of September. Visitors can see number of unique items related to Sissi that come from the collections of various Slovak, Hungarian and Austrian museums and cultural institutions.
