The Transport Ministry is considering reducing the operation of some smaller regional airports. The reason is that the state’s support towards aviation should be considerably curtailed in 2014, according to the draft budget for next year. For some regional airports it could mean their closure. As the Hospodárske Noviny announced, Transport Minister Jan Počiatek stated that the first candidate on the list to be cut off from state support is the Žilina Airport.
