Prime Minister Fico: Slovakia could accommodate more asylum seekers from Austria

If necessary the Slovak government would be willing to provide accommodation for more asylum seekers from Austria. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated this in an interview with the Austrian news website derStandard.at. In late June of this year the two governments signed an agreement about the temporary relocation of 500 asylum seekers from an over-crowded camp close to the Austrian capital Vienna to the southern Slovak town of Gabčíkovo. If this mechanism proves to be effective, we are ready to help more, stated PM Fico adding that Slovakia expects from all migrants that they are disciplined and respect Slovak law. Slovakia rejected the EU plan to relocate migrants among EU member states according to quotas.
