A convoy of American military vehicles set to travel from Germany to a military exercise in Hungary in September is to pass through Slovakia, Defence Ministry spokesperson Martina Balleková informed TASR on Friday. She added that the ministry and the Americans are currently discussing details of the movement - including the number of vehicles and the specific date. According to Balleková, U.S. military vehicles will also take part in military exercise known as Slovak Shield, which is planned for September 8 to October 2 in the Lešť training area (Banská Bystrica region). According to the ministry, foreign troops' movement via Slovakia is an ordinary activity stemming from Slovakia's membership of NATO.
