Young Slovak cyclist Erik Baška won the Sunday European Road Championship race for men under 23 years that took place in Tartu, Estonia. Baška performed the fastest sprint at the finish, and won a gold medal on the 161.2 kilometre long track. "The track was technically challenging. I enjoyed it", said the winner about the race. His success is the most important result in Slovak youth cycling since 2007, when Peter Velits won the title of World champion in the under 23 year old category.
