The training New Horizon 2015 tested the readiness of Slovakia's security forces for an influx of migrants. In the Nitra region, in western Slovakia, more than 250 soldiers, police officers, firemen and rescue workers underwent training from July 28 until July 30. As part of the training, a fictional asylum camp was created. There the security forces could test their abilities to provide accommodation, food and health care to a high number of asylum seekers. According to the Interior Ministry this training was a reaction to the currently worsened security situation in Africa and the Middle East due to which Europe has been recording an influx in migrants.
