The discovery of three dead people in a flat in Veľký Meder (Trnava region) on Monday (July 27) is being investigated by police as murder, TASR learnt from Trnava Police Corps spokesperson Martina Kredatusová on Tuesday. According to Kredatusová, the girlfriend of a 33-year-old man came to a local police station and reported that she had been unable to reach any of family members by telephone. Therefore, police summoned a firefighting squad that entered the second-floor flat through a window. Three family members were found dead inside. "It was a 56-year-old woman, who lay on a bed in a bedroom, her 60-year-old husband and their 33-year-old son found lying in another room on a couch", said Kredatusová. She added that the coroner initially determined heart failure to be the cause of death and police have launched a criminal investigation into murder. "All three bodies will undergo autopsies and only then will the cause of death be established. A dead dog was found at the crime scene, too. The family did not leave behind any farewell letter", added the spokesperson.
